 Drums
Julien started playing drums at 13 in the French countryside near Montpelier. In short order he had earned distinctions in drums, piano, and music production from that nation's best schools (the progressive drum school in Lyon, the national conservatory of Perpignan), won the Sonor national drum competition 4 years in a row, and performed professionally throughout Europe as a drummer and musical director, all while teaching drums, percussion and music theory in several music schools. In 2008, he relocated to NYC to study with drum greats at The Drummer's Collective and ramp up his production activities, achieving international airplay and chart positions for several singles he produced. A superb rhythmatist, Julien's power, finesse and versatility lend a fiery, graceful energy to Tycoon Dog's sound.
